El Paso, Texas – El Paso Attorney Terry W. Hammond recently addressed Texas Attorneys and Probate Court 25^th Annual Wills and Probate Institute at the South Texas College of Law.

 

Mr. Hammond advocated for Texas’ adoption of uniform legislation to protect the elderly and disabled caught in interstate guardianship disputes. If adopted by the State of Texas, the uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act would prevent elderly and disabled Texans from wrongfully being taken across state lines without court approval.

 

Mr. Hammond is a guardianship attorney who focuses his practice on protection of the elderly and disabled, and is the former Executive Director of the National Guardianship Association
