Terry W. Hammond Mr. Hammond has concentrated in guardianship law since 1993 Other aspects of his practice include probate law and mental health litigation. He is the Executive Director of the National Guardianship Association, for which he previously served on the Board of Directors for a decade. Mr. Hammond was certified as a Registered Guardian by the National Guardianship Foundation and is a certified guardianship mediator. Currently, Mr. Hammond serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Guardianship Association and chairs the Texas Guardianship Advisory Board which makes recommendations regarding the need for changes in the guardianship laws to the Governor and Legislature of the State of Texas.

Mr. Hammond serves as a consultant to guardianship programs and providers and as an expert witness in guardianship litigation throughout the United States, having been retained by the State of New Mexico, Washoe County, Nevada, and private counsel. Most recently, Mr. Hammond has received statewide and national attention for his effort to reform the Texas Adult Protective Services and mental health systems, and his work has been featured on NBC Dateline and in Money Magazine, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Dallas Morning News, Associated Press, as well as numerous local and statewide television and radio reports and programs. Mr. Hammond has testified before the Texas Legislature and has been consulted by other state legislatures on guardianship issues.

Stephanie Townsend Allala is a veteran El Paso journalist and a 2002 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. She has a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Texas at El Paso. Stephanie worked in radio, newspaper and television as a journalist before heading to law school. After law school she spent one year as a law clerk for Judge Susan Larsen at the Eighth Court of Appeals. Her practice includes Probate, Estate Planning, Trusts, and Medicaid Planning. She is the past president of the El Paso Press Club, the El Paso Women's Bar Auxilliary, the El Paso Women's Bar, and serves as Director on the El Paso Bar Association.

Fred O. Haiman Fred O. Haiman grew up in El Paso, Texas and worked as an El Paso Police Officer prior to attending the Texas Tech University School of Law. He has his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University and Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso. Fred has years of civil and criminal trial experience, is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. In addition to practicing law, Fred is a part-time faculty instructor teaching college-level government and criminal justice classes. He has been married for 18 years and is the proud father of two beautiful daughters. He is currently concentrating in the areas of Elder, Business and Real Estate law.

Rita McCormick became a member of our team on April 15, 2002 . She is a licensed attorney in Mexico and has successfully completed a legal assistant program in the United States. Mrs. McCormick assists our attorneys in guardianship and family cases. She is fully bilingual and facilitates communications between the attorneys and Spanish speaking clients.

Albert (“Ace”) Bole
was born and raised in Western New York . After graduating from Cornell University in 1952, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army as a field artillery officer. He served in the Army for 30 years, and retired as a Colonel. During his service, he earned his MBA. After retiring, he went to UTEP, where he received his Certificate as a Paralegal. He continues his paralegal studies, and brings a wealth of people skills to our firm.
